Story

Okay, guy question here... Have you ever been out to a club or maybe your local mall, and seen this girl? She's really good looking but then you notice that she has jet black hair, black lipstick, eye makeup and white-face like the old minstrels. Maybe that isn't a complete turnoff... I mean to each his own. But then as you watch her, you notice that despite being someplace where people are supposed be having a good time, she just sits there with this "pissed at the world" look on her face.  Then you think "hey that guy she is with, with all of the body piercings, that looks really bad-ass.... I know him.... he served me my burger the other day”. Well Honey... This song's for you... Lighten Up A Little Sweetie.

Lyrics

Bittersweet baby, won’t you come out to play

Bittersweet baby, won’t you come out to play

With your black lipstick on we’re gonna’ party till the break of day

With your black leather gown, no expression but a frown

You just don’t seem like the party type to me

And I don’t know if you noticed but your friend’s a little bogus

I saw him workin’ down the street at Mickey D’s

You look so awful needy, lighten up a little sweetie

Or that blank expression on your face may freeze

Now you’re showin’ them a hatchet with an attitude to match it

But you still look like a charmer to me

Bittersweet baby, won’t you come out tonight

Bittersweet baby, that ought to make it all right

With your black widow tat gonna’ start a little trouble tonight

Careful now –

A smile looks out of place on that melancholy face

Wouldn’t want your friends to see you have a good time

Though you’re lookin’ mighty fine with that trouble on your mind

While you sit there like a sad sack of a mime

I am thinking how much lighter this ole room could get much brighter

If you’d  crack a little grin just for a while

Three inch nails upon your fingers but your kisses they would linger

If you would shake a little lead off your behind

Bittersweet baby, won’t you come out tonight

Bittersweet baby, that ought to make it all right

With your black widow tat gonna’ start a little trouble tonight

Bittersweet baby, won’t you come out to play

Bittersweet baby, won’t you come out to play

Now you’re showin’ them a hatchet with an attitude to match it…

Three inch nails upon your fingers but your kisses they would linger…

With your black lipstick on we’re gonna’ party till the break of day
